Our Places

At Mercy Health our by line is 'Care first'. It succinctly describes what we do and where we place priority. We care for people: people of all faiths and no faith; people of all races and health status. (We employ on the same basis). We care for people in need, whether that be during pregnancy, newborn, many with ill health, but also those needing support to gain the best quality of life that is possible at their stage of life. At times this is supporting a person and their family to live a comfortable and productive life in their home or residential care, sometimes it is providing support towards the end of life.

The point of convergence is care, regardless of the setting.

Mercy Health operates Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg; an acute, tertiary referral service and Werribee Mercy Hospital in Wyndham on behalf of the State of Victoria. Approximately 11% of all babies born in Victoria are Mercy babies.

In addition, Mercy Health operates acute and community based mental health services throughout the western suburbs of Melbourne, community based palliative care, two sub-acute

hospitals in NSW on behalf of the State of NSW and a growing range of residential aged and community care services.

Mercy Health's residential aged care service includes 1,250 predominantly high, but also low, care licences located in Melbourne (Parkville, East Melbourne, Montrose, Wyndham and Sandringham), Geelong, Colac, Warrnambool, Bendigo, Shepparton, Albury and Young.

We also operate a wide ranging home and community care service in Melbourne, Geelong, Shepparton, Young and Canberra. This includes our appointment last year as the contract provider of Home and Community Care (HACC) services for the City of Melbourne.

Mercy Health employs 5,000 people with a priority to always place 'care first'. All services are co-ordinated centrally from our Corporate Office in Richmond and supported by the Mercy Health Training Institute, a registered training organisation, and the Mercy Health Foundation, a trust established to support research, teaching, training and development.
