About Us

The Mercy Health Foundation was established in 2006 to support Mercy Health, a Catholic provider of health, community and aged care services to improve care through research, training and development.

The Foundation operates as a company, limited by guarantee, and is the Trustee for the Mercy Health Trust Deed. The Company is governed by a Committee, appointed by Mercy Health.

The Committee is responsible for the good governance of the Company and is supported by the Executive Director and a team of dedicated fundraisers.

The Foundation's purpose is primarily to support research, teaching and training and unique projects, such as Victoria's first breastmilk bank at Mercy Hospital for Women. Projects are selected where there is an indentified need.

The Foundation is not about raising funds for buildings or new equipment. It is about developing the skills and abilities of people who care.
